Theoretical and empirical research in the field of sociology and architecture

Some of the important activities of Spolka take place rather in the background. Examples are:

Research methods consultation.
Space mapping.
Publishing activity.
Creation of exhibitions, symposia and other public outputs for research.

We are approached by several organisations and we are happy to contribute to them. Our team includes two sociologists with many years of experience in both research and fieldwork. In addition to our theoretical knowledge, we have a lot of experience in practice and we have learned from our own mistakes. Thanks to this, we can help, anticipate and optimise. We remember the lesson “Garbage In, Garbage Out”. It's hard to implement any good and meaningful measures based on bad data.

Well-prepared and correctly carried out research is the basis for a good project and responsible decisions. On this foundation, we often review the assignment itself together with the client. Whether it is the preparation of sociological research or the practice of an architectural study, we are happy to cover these activities in Spolka. Our team comprises architects and sociologists with more than 7 years of experience in sustainable planning and sensitive urban design.

We also do our own research. We have a personal interest in improving our own practice and learning more about aspects of sensitive and respectful urban design. Our long-term goal is to create better conditions for such urban design in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Selected works

*Since its establishment in 2016, Spolka has been involved in many projects. This is only a selection of a few that we consider among the most significant. Other works are published as an archive on the Slovak version of this website. If you are interested in any of the projects that are not translated here and are published only on the Slovak version of the website, please contact us and we will gladly tell you more about them.
